Its your boy, Yipman again, back from the dead. I realize that QTCS has been on a long-ass hiatus and now we’re starting to get our acts back together and again quit this crazy scene. Anyways during my hiatus, I came across a real star, like Sammy Davis Jr. level entertainer, actor comedian musician Donald Glover. People, if you don’t know who he is there is something wrong with you. This guy acts, does stand-ups and drops flows like its nobodies business. anyways, this is from his blog that I’ve been following for a while now. this ain’t his work but he does play a little part in it. Enjoy, and look forward to the revival
This is a goooooooooooooo(gettin’ tired)ooooooood remix of an excellent band. Temper Trap are my boys from Down Under and they do better there. Rusko, a personal fav, got it spot on with this remix.
First post in a long long time. Sorry for the absence but things got crazy once school started. I’ve got loads of songs that I’ve been listening to in the past 3 months that I haven’t posted about so expect a large number of posts over this thanksgiving break. For starters, I’ve got “Grenade” by Bruno Mars, everybody’s favorite crooner.
It’s highly justifiable that Bruno Mars is one of the best male artists to come out and shower us with amazing talent and music this year. He’s name got the biggest impact as his début single, ‘Just The Way You Are’ became a monster single and went number 1 across the globe. The Filipino-Puerto Rican crooner has a stunning voice and magnificent songwriting skills that carves into the hearts of every girl who hears him. ‘Grenade’ for example is straight to the heart with enough conviction and power to put chills running down on your spine.
‘Grenade’ – another track that speaks of his thoughts about the opposite sex but is somehow opposite to the message of ‘Just The Way You Are’. The big powerful impact of the tracks instruments has provided an extreme atmosphere to the message of the track itself. Bruno sings with enough disappointment in ‘I would go through all this pain, take a bullet strike through my brain…’ – an assuring line that he would do everything for the woman he loves and still won’t get the love he deserves. It’s kind of depressing if you’d look into it but it’s a brilliant song incorporated with an amazing vocal that gives him an assurance that he can do a lot more things than what we know. Mega.
I remember reading about John Lennon in his biography, and one common theme that continually reappeared was he was rife with insecurity. This shocked me, as Lennon had always seemed to be just the opposite; full of confidence and self-assurance. Whenever you see past footage of Lennon he always seems to be making some sort of joke (or in other instances, looking peculiarly Jesus-like).
The more you listen to him however, the more it becomes painstakingly obvious that he was a man facing issue much similar to those that many of us face today. When Lennon sings, “What am I supposed to be” is more than just existential introspection, it’s also a glimpse into the fragile mind of a true genius.
This video is one the reasons why I began to like classical again. It shows how man is still able to show emotions through fixed rules and established order. There’s a story about Jascha Heifetz and his encounters at various recitals. Being renown for his technical skills and abilities, Jascha would be picked on by the other violinists. They would cut his strings before his song making it impossible to change violins. Unlike other musicians who would just quit and practice for the next event, Heifetz would play the song with one string. Goes to show you can’t stop talent, even talent with only one string.
I’m sure it must be worrisome how many times I’ve had to use this Justin Biebertag on this blog, without regretting it. While the Biebz isn’t being slowed down by800% and sounding like Sigur Ros, Kanye West and Raekwon are rapping alongside his vocals for “Runaway Love” over the “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nothing ta Fuck Wit” beat.
When tackled head-on, I never quite understood the appeal of Justin Bieber’s music. I’m one music blogger who can appreciate mindless Top 40, and Bieber’s music always seemed unexceptional. Now it has been proven twice that in different settings, Justin Bieber sounds like he might be something special.
Title: Check It OutArtist: Nicki Minaj & Will.I.Am0 plays
check it! the newest hiphop megastar nicki minaj & BEP will.i.am lay some verses over the ’79 buggles classic “video killed the radio star” & it’s pretty hot stuff. we’re kind of over will.i.am but nicki sounds bomb on her verses as usual — no news on where exactly this track is from, but nm’s got her debut album pink friday due out november 23rd. catch the new track below!
Title: Alors On DanceArtist: Stromae (feat. Kanye West & Gilbere Forte)0 plays
Kanye West promised us a new song every Friday until the release of his c’mon-and-name-it-already album. No word on if this remix of the hit Euro-pop dance track “Alors On Dance” (from Belgium-born Stromae) is Yeezy’s contribution for this week, but we’ll take it regardless. Listen to the poppin’ song below.
“Even though they concentrate on all the flaws, we still gon’ annihilate the festivals,” raps ‘Ye. “Living life like there’s no tomorrow, wake up in Paris with a Russian model.” This globe-trotting track almost sounds like an “American Boy” sequel, no?
The electro-dance tune went to #1 in almost every European country. Let’s see if Kanye’s star power can do the same thing in the U.S.
Bon Iver’s name sticks out in this title like Jay-Z at a Grizzly Bear concert. How happy am I? Very. Kanye announced via his Twitter earlier today that he’ll be releasing an EP with Jay-Z. This is apparently the second song off that EP. Now let me get back to this Four Loko.
P.S. Did anyone hear the rumors about Drake and Nicki Minaj’s marriage?
